Louisiana Tech And North Texas Collide In CUSA Battle

This Thursday the college football with the closest moneyline and the one that is likely to give viewer some great football action is the battle between Louisiana Tech and North Texas.

Both teams are coming off convincing victories. The Bulldogs went over Louisiana-Lafayette 48-20, while North Texas dominated SMU, 43-6 and now both teams are looking to pull off equally convincing wins in their division openers. This is an opportunity for these two division favorites to set themselves apart from the pack.

Both teams have exhibited excellent ball control. They are both among 37 teams nationally who have not given up a fumble this season.

On the Louisiana Tech side of the ball that is mostly thanks to Kenneth Dixon. Dixon rushed 184 yards and put up two touchdowns last week, including a huge 99-yard run. It will be up to North Texas’ defense to shut him down and control the pace of the game.

Louisiana Tech also has a potent offensive weapon in quarterback Cody Sokol who has shown he is not afraid to throw the ball. He threw for 191 yards in Week 1 against Oklahoma and kept up his aerial assault last week putting up 295 more passing yards.

The Bulldogs will want to keep North Texas as far away from the red zone as possible, as North Texas has proven they can score from 47 yards out on the back of Freshman kicker Trevor Moore. Moore tied the school record last week with five field goal kicks against SMU. His two farthest kick were from 47 yards and 42 yards, showing that North Texas does not have to be with in the red zone to put numbers on the board.

North Texas are the favorites to win this game with a -4 point spread. You can watch the game on CBS College Sports at 7 p.m. ET.
