Bengals’ Billy Price Cleared From Injury

Cincinnati Bengals center Billy Price has been cleared for football activity after suffering an injury at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Billy Price was picked in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft out of Ohio State by the Bengals. He sustained a torn pectoral muscle injury while bench pressing at the NFL scouting combine.

The No. 21 overall pick declared in the spring that he was “way ahead of schedule” with his rehabilitation.

Then on Monday, Billy Price tweeted that he’s been cleared from injury in time for training camp in July.

He’s now on track to help the revamped Cincinnati Bengals in time for Week 1 of the 2018 NFL season.

Price is considered vital to Cincinnati’s efforts to resolve their long lasting offensive problems. The team has suffered from issues along the line of the last few years.

This offseason, the Bengals have rebuilt their blocking unit in an effort to improve this.

As well as Price, the team added left tackle Cory Glenn. Glenn was acquired in a trade with the Buffalo Bills during this offseason.

The 6-foot-4, 305-pound Price entered the draft as one of the most pro-ready blockers available. He projects as the opening-day starter at the pivot.

However, due to his injury, Price’s opportunities to train during the offseason have been limited. His doctors informed teams that this would be a possibility before the 2018 NFL draft took place.

Price, the 22-year-old rookie, is expected to start at the center of the Cincinnati Bengals new offense next year.

He is a two-time all-American. While at college, he started 55 consecutive games for Ohio State. That kind of durability bodes well for Price who will have to get back up to speed following his injury.
