Terrell Suggs of the Baltimore Ravens scared the life out of Philadelphia Eagles fans last week with a hit on injury prone quarterback Sam Bradford. Although the Eagles have their fair share of a viable backup quarterbacks with Mark Sanchez itching for a chance to win the starting job under center, Bradford is currently the face of the franchise and the player head coach Chip Kelly hopes to propel this team into the NFL playoffs.

Despite the hit heard around the football world by Suggs, Bradford will suit up for the Eagles this weekend when the team facing the Green Bay Packers in the second-to-last preseason game for Philadelphia, according to Zac Jackson of Pro Football Talk:

Even with the starting quarterback on the other side unlikely to play and last week’s big hit by Terrell Suggs still a topic of discussion, Eagles coach Chip Kelly plans to play Sam Bradford in Saturday night’s preseason game at Green Bay.

Currently, the Eagles have four experienced quarterbacks on their roster with Sanchez expected to be Bradford’s backup to start the 2015 campaign for the Eagles. Behind Sanchez is fellow USC alum Matt Barkley followed by two-time BCS champion Tim Tebow.

Bradford may have dealt with numerous injuries over the course of his career since being drafted out of Oklahoma in 2010, but the Eagles feel confident he’s their guy moving forward. With insurance in Sanchez, Barkley and Tebow behind him, Kelly and company have options, but are focused on making Bradford the starter for the foreseeable future.
