NFL To Unveil New Alternate Uniforms During Upcoming TNF Matches

There wasn’t much noteworthy activity during Thursday night’s Dolphins-Patriots game. New England cruised to 7-0, and Miami came crashing back down to earth after a 2-0 start under interim head coach Dan Campbell.

But it was a half-time commercial advertising the rest of CBS’s Thursday Night Football schedule that piqued the interest of neutral fans. It proclaimed that Nike and the NFL “will be flooding the field with color”, and teased fresh alternate jerseys for eight teams featuring in four upcoming TNF matchups.

The vibrant selection included what appeared to be throwback designs for several teams, including a return to kelly green for the New York Jets, the royal blue and yellow getups for the St. Louis Rams and the well-received “shoulder star” look of the Dallas Cowboys.

Also included was a shift from secondary to primary colors for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills, who will sport gold and red jerseys respectively.

We now know that the “Color Rush” campaign will be featured in weeks 10, 11, 12 and 15, with a commercial to be shown at halftime of each of those games featuring the full uniforms of the teams playing next week. This means that next week’s Thursday game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns will reveal the updated threads for week 10.

The teams featured in the campaign are:

  • Bills at Jets (week 10)
  • Titans at Jaguars (week 11)
  • Panthers at Cowboys (week 12)
  • Buccaneers at Rams (week 15)
