Harry Kane, in a bid to make amends and lead England to glory, is going after the Golden Boot prize.

Gareth Southgate’s side kick off their World Cup campaign against Tunisia on Monday 18th of June. Harry Kane will have the chance to get off the mark early against inferior competition to become the top scorer.

Kane has won the Premier League Golden Boot twice in the last three seasons. He finished second in the scoring charts in the 2017/2018 season, behind Liverpool’s brilliant Mohamed Salah.

Kane has kicked on since England laboured to a last 16 loss to Iceland in the 2016 European Championships. Since that disappointing tournament, he has scored 84 goals for Tottenham Hotspur and England.

After being awarded the England captaincy, Kane is fired up to make a big impression in Russia.

“As a striker, it is a competition that you want to win – I would be lying if I said I didn’t! In the Premier League I have won it twice and come second twice – hopefully this summer I can do something and get a World Cup one instead,” he said.

“It was always an England kit for me, rather than a club shirt,” he added.

“My mates used to buy Real Madrid or Barcelona shirts when we were on holiday in Spain but I was always England.

“I was very passionate, my older brother Charlie was very passionate – we were big England fans. We had a lot of heartache in the past, but I am very proud to represent my country.”
