Rapper 50 Cent to bet $1.6M on Floyd Mayweather Jr to beat Manny Pacquiao
The boxing world received great news recently with superstars Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. agreeing to fight on May 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada. As arguably the two biggest names in boxing today, these two elite fighters have been circling each other for about half a decade.
Many believe this mega fight should’ve happened about three or four years ago when both boxers were arguably in their prime. Now Mayweather Jr. is 38 and Pacquiao has suffered two devastating losses.
Although this fight won’t be what it could’ve have been, it’ll still be considered the biggest sporting event of the year. There’s a lot of buzz surrounding this fight with a lot of betting action already taking place.
According to Sportsbook.ag, as many expected, Mayweather Jr. is the favorite with 1 to 2 odds.
In an interesting turn of events, rapper 50 Cent, former close friend of Mayweather’s, has let it be known he intends on placing $1.6 million on the superstar boxer to beat Pacquiao. Curtis Jackson, as he’s also known, made an appearance on Power 105.1 “The Breakfast Club” and talked about the bet:
50 and Mayweather have had a very public feud over the past few years with the two no longer seeing eye-to-eye. Although the two clearly didn’t like each other for quite some time, Jackson claims the two have worked things out which makes a lot of sense considering he’s willing to wager $1.6 million on the undefeated boxer.
On May 2, Pacquiao will face off against Mayweather Jr. at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather comes into the fight with a flawless record of 47-0 with 26 KOs. Pacquiao also sports an impressive record of 57-5-2 with 38 KOs, but has two glaring losses which have changed his legacy.
