The San Francisco 49ers made a bold move to trade for Emmanuel Sanders this week, and he’s set to play “a lot†Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, speaking with reporters ahead of Sunday’s showdown with a top NFC contender, made it clear he’s planning on using Sanders plenty, just days after acquiring him from Denver.
Sanders immediately becomes San Francisco’s top wide receiver, both in terms of real-world production and fantasy value. Though, expectations should likely be tempered somewhat this Sunday due to Sanders’ lack of preparation time, and because the Panthers are dominant defensively.
It’s going to be fascinating to see how the 49ers integrate the veteran receiver into their offense the next few weeks. When healthy and utilized properly, he’s been among the most dangerous receivers in the league at times.
