AFC West Week 6 Super Bowl Odds

The race to be top dog in the AFC West is a very interesting one.  All the teams in the AFC West’s Super Bowl odds are not particularly impressive, but the odds paint a very vivid picture of where each team currently stands.

San Diego Chargers

Super Bowl Odds

This Week                    Last Week

28/1                                 20/1

The San Diego Chargers currently sit on top of the AFC West division with a 3-2 win-loss record.  Their Super Bowl odds slipped after they dropped a close game against the, up to that point, winless New Orleans Saints.

The Chargers are struggling in the passing game despite being a passing team.  It is not on Phillip Rivers, though, it is on the offensive line.  The pass protection for the Chargers has been awful.  If the Chargers o-line can step up this team will continue to be a winning team.  If not their Super Bowl odds will slip from week to week.

Denver Broncos

Super Bowl Odds

25/1                                 20/1

Peyton Manning is catching a lot of flak for the Bronco lack luster start.  They say his passes are wobbly and his arm strength just is not what it once was, but when you look at his stats that is simply not true.  Manning is every bit as good as he ever was.  The problem is Manning simply cannot do it alone.

The Broncos Bowl Odds slipped after they lost a game to a very good New England Patriots team.  They lost the game 31-21, but it is amazing that the game was this close.  It is important to remember that as good as Manning is he can’t do it alone.  He needs pass protection, he needs a good back and he needs his recievers to hold on to the ball otherwise the Broncos could continue to slip down in the Super Bowl odds, though they are currently have the best odds in the AFC West to take the Super Bowl.

Oakland Raiders

Super Bowl Odds

This Week                    Last Week

250/1                                 250/1

After the bye week, the Oakland Raiders Super Bowl odds are still 250/1.  The Raider find themselves in an under dog position week after week and they also continue to fail to pull out an upset.  This is reflected in their poor Super Bowl odds.

The Raiders need some big victories not just to improve their Super Bowl odds but to also start moving out of their 1-3 losing record.

Kansas City Chiefs

Super Bowl Odds

This Week                    Last Week

250/1                                 250/1

As the Kansas City Chiefs keep losing their Super Bowl odds stay the same. Being at 1-4 at this point in the season is not a good feeling, but the Chiefs are not past the point of no return.  They are not as bad as their record or their Super Bowl Odds indicate.

They are the second best rushing team in the NFL, third most total yards in the NFL and the 11th best defense in the league.  This team just needs to get firing on all cylinders and they can still recover from their 1-4 deficit before the end of the season.
