Alabama Visits Tennessee
Alabama heads to Knoxville, Tennessee to take on the Vols later this evening in a continuation of their SEC rivalry.
There was a time when this game would be considered an even match up, but in over their last seven meeting the Crimson Tide have defeated the Vols. In eight of the last ten games Alabama has covered the spread.
Today Alabama is favored to win with a -20 moneyline. The money line opened with the Crimson Tided favored by 16 points. It then gradually moved and settled at 20 points earlier today.
Tennessee is 2-7-1 when playing against the spread in its last 10 games as home underdogs. They are 4-9 against the spread in their last 13 home games against SEC opponents.
The total is set at 46 points. Tennessee is hit the over in seven of its last 11 games as home underdogs and three games in its last four meetings.
Alabama may be ranked No. 4 in the AP Top 25 but after blanking Texas A&M and scoring 59 points, in a game in which the Aggies were expected to compete and even cover the spread, they now find themselves on top to the future odds to win the NCAA Championship.
One would think that home field advantage would give the Vols an edge, but they have not been winning much at home lately. The Vols lost their only home SEC match up of the season to Florida, 10-9 in early October. They were favored to win by 1 point. Tennessee has also only cover the spread in two games over 11 as home underdogs.
The game starts at 7:30 p.m. ET. You can watch it on ESPN2.
