Aldridge Signs With Spurs, Shifts Odds

LaMarcus Aldridge announced on Twitter that he would not be going to the Los Angeles Lakers, the New York Knicks or any of the other teams people were wildly speculating he would go to. Instead, Aldridge has opted to sign with the San Antonio Spurs.

Not only did the signing make waves among the sports news circuits but it also caused some major shake ups in the future odds.

The Spurts saw their NBA title odds go from 10-1 to 4-1, with the being the only team with better odds.

You can chalk some of that movement up to bettors getting excited with Aldridge’s move. However, Aldridge was considered the No. 1 players in free agency and his signing caused about as big of splash as expected.

It was not only the Spurs whose odds were affected by the decision.The Lakers fell from 80-1 to 200-1 after the announcement. The Knicks also fell from 80-1 to 200-1. The Portland Trail Blazers dropped form 50-1 to 100-1 in the NBA Championship future odds.

The LA Clippers odds fell from 10-1 to 20-1 but not because of Aldridge. That was because they lost DeAndre Jordan to the Dallas Mavericks.
