The Indianapolis Colts came only one win away from reaching the Super Bowl last season with Andrew Luck and company falling to the eventual Super Bowl champion New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game. Although the Patriots were clearly the superior team during the championship game, the Colts have already made some major moves during the NFL offseason to put them over the top next season.

One of those moves was to bring in another offensive weapon to the passing game. Indianapolis signed veteran wide receiver Andre Johnson to help bolster the receiving corps. Johnson may have yet to play against for the Colts, but it appears the University of Miami product is already very happy he made the move to Indianapolis.

According to ESPN’s Mike Wells, Johnson is already convinced Luck is the best quarterback he’s ever played with:

“He throws a great ball,” Johnson said Wednesday. “Probably the best quarterback I’ve ever played with. I’m excited about the opportunity. I just can’t wait to continue to keep working with him and keep learning.”

Johnson had his best years in the NFL while receiving passes from veteran gunslinger Matt Schaub. Johnson was Schaub’s favorite target in the passing game and for good reason with the wideout being considered among the elite in the NFL at his position for most of his career.

Unfortunately, Johnson is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career. Johnson caught 85 passes for 936 yards and three touchdowns last season. The veteran wideout also lost a career-high three fumbles last year and the Houston Texans missed the NFL playoffs for the second straight season.

Although many believe Johnson’s best days are behind him, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he could have a Randy Moss-like resurgence with Luck under center in Indianapolis. Moss was able to bounce back at an advanced age in New England catching passes from Tom Brady and Johnson may be able to do the same with Luck next season.
