Anthony Davis Day To Day Ahead of Game 5 VS Suns

When Anthony Davis missed a layup at the end of the second quarter against Phoenix, the Lakers held their breath.

Anthony Davis left the eventual 100-92 defeat to the Suns with a groin injury and did not return. According to ESPN, he is ‘day to day’ regarding a return.

The series is now tied at 2 – 2, and the Lakers may have to find a new solution ahead of Game 5 on Tuesday.

Anthony Davis averaged 34 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2 blocks in Games 2 and 3. Coming into Game 4 on a sprained left knee, he finished with six points on 2-for-9 shooting with four rebounds in 19 minutes.

The buildup to the Lakers’ postseason was defined by the team having to readjust to the returning Davis. With their series against the Suns tightly poised, they may have to think again.

In LeBron James, they have a player used to carrying a franchise on his back.

“For me, it’s putting our team in position to be successful,” James said.

“It starts with my approach, my accountability, trickles down to everybody else. So, you know, these shoulders are built for a reason. If it takes for me to put some more on top of it, then so be it. Win, lose or draw, I’m ready for the challenge.”

“You know, he’s one of the best players in the world, so you have to adjust,” Vogel said. “And I thought we gave great effort trying to overcome that loss, but it certainly wasn’t enough.”

“Obviously, we’ve been derailed this year, but at the same time, we’ve been through it,” Kyle Kuzma said. “So we just got to figure it out. Just got to figure it out.”

“We’re tailor-made toward one type of basketball when AD is out there,” Kuzma said. “And obviously, he wasn’t out there.”
