Anthony Davis Return Not Straightforward For the Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers face a race against time to recalibrate their team with Anthony Davis ahead of the postseason.
Anthony Davis recently made his return from a 30 game absence due to a calf strain and Achilles tendinosis in his right leg.
Anthony Davis getting back to full fitness is a concern. Additionally, the Lakers who have been coping without him, must readjust to having him back.
His return hasn’t given the Lakers the boost their fans will have been hoping for. Saturday’s 108-93 defeat to the Dallas Mavericks was their third straight.

“It’s like you’re starting over with the guys and just trying to find a connection with these guys again,” Davis said.
“They’re trying to find a connection with me. So, it’s like we’re starting from zero, which is tough so late in the season.”
Given there are only 12 regular season games left, LA doesn’t have the luxury of time to figure things out. Their hold on the No.5 seed in the West is now a precarious 1.5 lead over the Dallas Mavericks.
The NBA’s new play-in format means that seeds 7 – 10 play a tournament to determine the last two playoff berths. If the Lakers could secure the 6th seed or higher, they would have some breathing room, and not have the pressure of figuring out how to play in the middle of high-stakes games.
The final two games of their road trip come against the Orlando Magic and the Washington Wizards.
“We’ve got to be able to get some wins,” added Davis.Â
“This was tough for us. Orlando and D.C. are must wins for us, for sure.”

“We’re going to talk about it,” Dennis Schroder said.
“I think when Bron comes back, we’re going to have a conversation as a team. Because our chemistry, like AD said, off the court is great. But on the court, we just got to turn it up some more.”
