Arizona Cardinals Players Express Support for Josh Rosen

On Tuesday, the day Kyler Murray was scheduled to visit Arizona to meet with the Cardinals, starting quarterback Josh Rosen was not available to media, on the first open day of the offseason program for the Cardinals.

However, teammates of Rosen spoke out in support of their second-year signal caller.

When asked how he would feel if Arizona drafted Murray later this month as the first pick overall running back David Johnson immediately responded by saying he likes Josh. He said Rosen was a great leader and has some of the same leadership tendencies as former Cardinals QB Carson Palmer.

With speculation and rumors about the future of Rosen with the Cardinals swirling just over two weeks prior to the NFL draft, the signal caller and his offense did not work out in the weight room of the Cardinals for reporters. Although, the defenses as well as specialists worked out,

Chandler Jones an outside linebacker for the Cardinals said that Rosen handled himself like other quarterbacks would. Jones added that Rosen was a leader and impressed Jones with the way he spoke while in the huddle.

Jones said he could hear at practice how Rosen was able to grab players’ attention in the huddle.

Safety Budda Baker told reporters that it was business as usual for Rosen to arrive first on Monday for the start of the offseason program. The Cardinals third-year safety added that Rosen is a great guy.

Cardinal running back Johnson knows how it is trying to deal with the outside noise. Throughout his NFL career he has been hit with chatter over fantasy football and has learned ways to block that out, something he told Rosen he must do with all the talk swirling around about a possible trade.

Johnson said he told Rosen to ignore it. Johnson added that Rosen and the rest of his teammates do not know what is being discussed related to a possible trade and the most important thing to do was be prepared to play.
