Atlanta Looks To Finish Off Nets
With Atlanta carrying one of the best records in the NBA and sweeping the season series against Brooklyn, most expected this series to be more one sided.
The Nets have been sticking around like a needle in Atlanta’s side. Coming from down two game to tie up the series. The Hawks regained controFl with a win in Game 5. Now the Nets are in a must win and Hawks are looking to close this series.
Atlanta are the favorites against the nets with a point spread that opened at -4.5 points. As of this writing it slightly varies between -3.5 and -4.5 points.
All five of the Hawks’ starter hit double digits in their Game 5 win. It is a pattern for success that Atlanta has used all season long. Atlanta’s tendency to move the ball around has drawn criticism that this is a team that lacks a superstar, but they may be on their way to proving that if a team can ideally gel a singular superstar is not necessary to win.
For the Nets, Joe Johnson and Brook Lopez have been consistent throughout the series. It is Deron Williams performance that seems to hinge on Brooklyn winning. Williams scored 35 point in Game 4 and followed that up performance by shooting 2-for-8 from the field in game 5. When he is in the ball game the Nets tend to win. When he isn’t they lose.
The total for the game is set at 200 points.
The game starts at 7 p.m. ET and you can watch it on ESPN.
