Auburn will be fined $250k for fans on field
The Auburn Tigers pulled off a major upset over the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in their annual Iron Bowl rivalry game on Saturday.
By virtue of the 26-14 win, Auburn will play in the SEC Championship Game against Georgia for what will likely be a spot in the CFP.
Auburn will incur a fine of $250,000 for its third offense under the SEC's policy prohibiting fan access to competition area, which went into effect on December 1, 2004.

Following the win, Auburn fans stormed the field in celebration. It was a dramatic scene at Jordan–Hare Stadium as the Tigers pulled the upset against their in-state rivals.
Unfortunately, the university will now be fined $250,000 after a third violation of the SEC’s policy prohibiting fan access to competition area.
That’s no small slap on the wrist right there. But the university sill definitely make up for it with revenue from the SEC title game and potentially two College Football Playoff games.
So yeah, $250,000 is well worth the win over Alabama on Saturday.
