Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict Will Be Fined After All
Following an ugly division brawls against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, there were reports that the NFL was reviewing a questionable hit Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict put on Ben Roethlisberger.
On Wednesday ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted out information received from Burfict’s agent Audie Attar, who indicated the matter had been resolved and that his client would not be fined or otherwise disciplined by the league.

As it turns out, however, Burfict’s agent wasn’t a credible source. Either Attar was misinformed and had no idea what he was talking about, or he deliberate fed false information to ESPN, in hopes that it would influence the NFL’s decision.

With Burfict actually having been fine for three plays from the game on Sunday, based on Attar’s amended statement to ESPN, at this point it’s unclear if he is appealing one, two or all three of the fines.
