Bobby Wagner Returns To Seahawks After Season With Rams
Linebacker Bobby Wagner is back where he belongs after a year long tiff with the Seattle Seahawks.Â
Bobby Wagner, a Seahawks legend, signed a five-year, $50 million contract with the then Super Bowl champion Rams last offseason.
There was some animosity surrounding his departure as Bobby Wagner found out the team was releasing him through the media.
A poor Rams season, Seattle’s need at linebacker and some apologies paved the way for his return this offseason.Â

“I never really wanted to leave in the first place,” Wagner said.
“It just seemed like the right thing,” Wagner explained.
“Everybody was excited to have me back in the building, but even like walking around, going to the store, things of that nature, you could just feel that there’s a lot of love and support here. So I’m grateful that that’s what it is. I’m grateful for how the fans have re-embraced me.”
Wagner enjoyed a decent 2022 season. His career-high six sacks was enough to earn him a second-team All-Pro nod. However, the Rams finished their Super Bowl defending year with a 5-12 record.Â
He returns to the Rams on a one year deal and will provide cover for the injured Jordyn Brooks and the departed Cody Barton.

“I thought when I left, that was the end,” Wagner said. “You know, if you watched the guys that kind of left before me, there have been some moments when you thought someone was gonna come back, whether it was Richard (Sherman) or K.J. (Wright) or whoever, but it just didn’t happen for whatever reason. So I didn’t think that this was in the cards, but I’m happy it played out this way.”
