Boston Celtics To Face Toronto or Brooklyn in Next Round

The Boston Celtics are the first team to qualify for Round 2 of the playoffs after sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers.

Boston clinched it’s 4th win over Philly with a 110-106 win on Sunday. It was the first sweep in 15 playoff series between the two teams.

Kemba Walker scored 32 points, while Jayson Tatum had 28 points and 15 rebounds. It was Walker’s first win in the playoffs in his entire career.

The former Charlotte Hornets star doesn’t want to stop there after tasting that triumph for the first time.

“It feels good,” Walker said.

“The work’s not done. We won a series, but we’re still looking forward to some more tough ones.”

Joel Embiid led the Sixers in scoring with 30 points, as well as 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

It was a tight game, and the result swung on the removal of 76ers forward Tobias Harris from the game. It was late in the 3rd quarter when Philadelphia was trailing by just two points.

Then, Harris took a nasty fall under the basket. He returned after some treatment on a lacerated left eye, but by then it was too late. The Boston Celtics capitalized on his absence, going on a 12 – 0 run from which the 76ers could not recover.

“I feel like the game flipped when Tobias went out,” Sixers coach Brett Brown said.

“It was a two-point game, three-point game at that stage. Up until that moment, I felt pretty good about what we were doing.”

The Boston Celtics will face either defending champion the Toronto Raptors or the Brooklyn Nets in the next round. Toronto holds a 3 – 0 lead over the Nets in their series, and will seal qualification with a fourth win over them tonight.
