Boykins, Elliott Top 2015 Heisman Trophy Winner Odds
Bovada has updated their future odds for the Heisman Trophy winner, with Ezekiel Elliot and Trevone Boykin trading places.
Boykin tops the odds at +450. The TCU quarterback was second behind the eventual winner, Marcus Mariota, in last year’s Heisman voting. TCU is listed with the fourth best odds to win the National Championship over at Bovada, meaning that Boykin will likely be back in the national spotlight this season.
Boykin closed the 2014 season with some eye-popping stats, including a 61.2 percent completion rate on 492 pass attempts, picking up 707 yards on the ground on 152 carries and hitting a quarterback rating of 87.5. He threw for a ttotal of 3,901 yards with 33 touchdowns. If he has another season like that, Boykin not only tops the odds, but may also be the best value for bettors.
Elliot’s odds sit at +700. Elliott’s first strike against him is he is a running back. Quarterbakcs have won the Heisman the last five years and only one running back has the Heisman going back to 2000.
Elliot is Ohio State’s biggest offensive weapon and will have plenty of chances to blow people’s minds. But he is starting behind the 8-ball due to his position.
