Brandon Marshall Says CB Darrelle Revis Is ‘The Best In The League’
After six seasons with the New York Jets, cornerback Darrelle Revis played for two different teams over the last two years. The first stop was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers followed by a one-year stint with the New England Patriots.
Although it seemed unheard of for Revis to join the bitter rival of the Jets, the veteran cornerback headed to New England and won a Super Bowl title under head coach Bill Belichick last season. Now Revis has returned to the Jets and is already receiving high praise from one of his new teammates in New York.
Veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall said the following about Revis, via Rich Cimini of ESPN:
“I’ve been around great ones,” said the veteran wide receiver, who is beginning his 10th season. “I practiced against Champ Bailey … Charles (Peanut) Tillman. Played against some great guys. I didn’t play against Deion (Sanders), but Darrelle Revis is the best in the league. Ever.”
Marshall will be suiting up for his fourth team this season after three years with the Chicago Bears. Marshall, much like Revis, will have the benefit of going up against one of the best in the game during practice in New York.
It appears Revis’ impact has already been felt by Marshall meaning both players could be in for a solid season with the Jets. Although the addition of Marshall and Revis are huge upgrades on both sides of the football, New York is still expected to struggle in the AFC East this year.
According to Sportsbook.ag, the Jets are sporting 12/1 odds to win their division behind the Buffalo Bills (4/1), Miami Dolphins (16/5) and Patriots (2/3).
