Broncos coach Vic Fangio doesn’t blame fans for being disappointed

The Denver Broncos are have fallen to their fifth loss in their first six games, which has put them clear out of the playoff picture.

Denver is coming off a disappointing outing in the 30-6 loss on Thursday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. Following the game, head coach Vic Fangio stated that the fans have the right to boo their lackluster performance on the field, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

“With that performance, they have every right to be angry and they have every right to boo,” Fangio told reporters of Friday. “We probably deserved it. It’s a loyal fan base and one that I’ve grown quickly to appreciate. We’re doing everything we can to get this fixed as quickly as possible.”

The Broncos have struggled to get any consistent footing in the early goings of the season. They have had a mixed bag of performances with their offensive struggles being at the forefront of it all.

That was certainly the case against the Chiefs as they had huge issues on the field getting anything going. The Broncos had just 207 total offensive yards, including 134 passing yards from quarterback Joe Flacco with 15 total first downs and averaged only 3.2 yards per game.

The team hasn’t received the type of play they expected from Flacco as he hasn’t been able to push the Broncos offense forward with his arm. Beyond that, it’s clear that Denver is in full rebuilding mode for the rest of the season.
