Browns expected to make a head coach hire in coming days

The Cleveland Browns are the only team left standing with a head coaching vacancy and are set to move forward with more interviews this week before reportedly deciding by the weekend.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cleveland will interview Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz on Wednesday, Minnesota Vikings offensive Kevin Stefanski on Thursday and New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels on Friday.

The Browns have already interviewed Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman. As well as that, San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll have been interviewed.

McDaniels would potentially be the team’s final interview before it made a decision. According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, the organization is hopeful a decision on which candidate to hire will become clear on Friday. From there, the team could work out an agreement with the coach over the weekend.

Anderson notes that the possibility remains for the coaching search to last into next week. However, it’s expected as of now that the Browns will have their target and move forward with them.
