Browns QB Deshaun Watson ‘would love’ to reunite with DeAndre Hopkins

DeAndre Hopkins is looking for a new home in the NFL, with the Cleveland Browns being a possible destination.

There had been a lot of speculation over the last few months about the Cardinals trying to trade Hopkins, with the team seemingly heading into a rebuilding period.

After being unable to find a trade package that the team liked, the Cardinals simply released him.

Deshaun Watson, Hopkins’ former quarterback with the Houston Texans, was asked about possibly reuniting with him in Cleveland and is all for the idea via ESPN’s Jake Trotter.

“Me and D-Hop, we just naturally talk,” Watson said. “We’ve been talking since the Houston days. … He’s always been a brother of mine. … Our connection, our relationship has always been great. … Of course, we would love to have him. He knows that.”

The pairing of Hopkins and Amari Cooper would be one of the best wide receivers duos in the NFL. It would also give Watson two solid targets in the passing game, which would be ideal for the Browns as they try to get back to form as a force to be reckoned with in the AFC.

However, the Browns will have some tough competition in the Hopkins sweepstakes. The Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs are also reportedly pursuing the five-time All-Pro wideout.

Other teams will likely emerge as suitors for Hopkins, especially if a deal doesn’t get done quickly with the 30-year-old available to the highest bidder.
