Bruce Arians says the Browns is only job he’d consider

Bruce Arians, Arizona Cardinals

Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians, who is now in the broadcasting business with CBS Sports, would only consider coming back to coach one NFL team.

“Cleveland is the only job I would consider,” Arians reportedly said in the booth during the Browns-Chiefs game on Sunday.

From there, he went to Pittsburgh and helped the Steelers win two Super Bowls before landing a head coaching gig with the Arizona Cardinals. Health issues forced him to retire, but if he did want to return to the league he’d certainly be a hot commodity.

One of the best offensive-minded coaches around, his push-the-ball-downfield mentality would seem to be a perfect fit to pair with rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield. And as we know, there’s a vacancy in Cleveland after Hue Jackson got his walking papers.

Arians has previously been a coach with the Browns, serving as offensive coordinator from the 2001-04 seasons. He also interviewed for the Browns’ head coaching vacancy in 2013 but the team hired Rob Chudzinski instead.

Arians retired from coaching in January, citing his family as the reason for his decision.

Maybe he’s had enough family time?
