Carmelo Anthony Moves To 15th on All-Time Scoring List

Carmelo Anthony will likely go down in history as one of the best players to never win an NBA title.

The Portland Trail Blazers veteran further solidified his Hall of Fame credentials against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.

Carmelo Anthony is now in 15th place on the all-time scoring list, surpassing two Celtics legends in Paul Pierce and John Havlicek.

The 36 year old has 26,398 career points ahead of John Havlicek (26,395) and Paul Pierce (26,397).

Carmelo Anthony is almost 100 points behind 14th-place San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Duncan, who scored 26,496.

Anthony was part of the 2003 NBA Draft class which included LeBron James and Dwayne Wade. While he hasn’t enjoyed the same success as them, he has been one of the NBA’s most prolific scorers.

For each of his first 14 seasons, he averaged over 20 points per game. As well as that, he lead the league in scoring during his 2011-2012 season with the New York Knicks. Over his entire career, he has averaged 23.6 points per game.

Anthony is a 6-time NBA selection and a 10-time NBA All-Star. He has played for the Nuggets, the Knicks, the Thunder and the Houston Rockets.

His stint with the Rockets last year looked to be his potential retirement home as he began to slow down. He played just 10 games while he was in Houston.

He has rebuilt his reputation while in Portland as a veteran presence for the Trail Blazers. The team has a shot at making the playoffs, currently in 9th place in the Western Conference. They likely won’t trouble the big boys in the postseason, should they make it. However, Anthony backing up Damien Lillard and CJ McCollum has proven a potent offensive set up.
