Carmelo Anthony Reportedly At ‘Peace’ With Uncertain Status With Knicks

With the NBA offseason now into August, superstar Carmelo Anthony still doesn’t know what the future holds for him in terms of the situation with the New York Knicks. The team has been rumored to be in trade talks with many different teams, but no deal to send Anthony elsewhere has come to fruition.

Although Anthony’s future still hangs in the balance, the veteran forward is not letting the constant speculation bother him moving forward. Anthony is reportedly at peace with his situation with the Knicks even though his future in the NBA isn’t set in stone, via ESPN’s Ian Begley:

Carmelo Anthony said Wednesday that he is at “peace” with his current situation but isn’t sure whether he will remain with the New York Knicks.

All signs point to Anthony eventually being traded to the Houston Rockets. Carmelo has a no-trade clause in his contract which means he can veto any deal he doesn’t approve of, but rumors have floated around the league over the last few weeks about his desire to waive his clause in order to join forces with head coach Mike D’Antoni once again.

The Rockets appear to be going all in this summer as they try to put together a team that can compete with the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference. Houston already acquired star point guard Chris Paul in a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers and seem determined to get Anthony if they can make a trade work.

The combination of Paul, James Harden, and Anthony would put the Rockets one step closer to competing with the mighty Warriors. It’s possible they could become the second-best team in the West with the acquisition of Anthony as long as they don’t gut their team to make it happen.
