Carolina Panthers Favorites Over Indianapolis Colts On MNF In Week 8
The Carolina Panthers are one of five undefeated teams in the NFL right now. Cam Newton and company continue to defy the odds every single week despite being without one of their best offensive weapons in wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin. Once Benjamin went down with a season-ending knee injury in Week 1, the consensus was the Panthers were struggle offensively with Newton having to single-handedly lead the team to victory on a weekly basis.
Fortunately for Carolina, Newton has been able to shoulder the load while leading the team to six straight wins and first place in the NFC South division over the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints.
In Week 8, the Panthers will face another tough challenge against a desperate Indianapolis Colts squad. Andrew Luck’s Colts have struggled all season long with the team failing to live up to expectations and losing four out of seven games thus far.
Along with struggling to compete on a weekly basis, no matter who the opponent is, Luck has dealt with a shoulder injury resulting in the quarterback missing time this season. Luck will be under center this week, but he’s far from the perennial Pro Bowler that has dominated the competition over the past few years.
According to Sportsbook.ag, the Panthers are expected to improved to 7-0 on the season with a -7 point spread. Although the Colts will always be a dangerous team with Luck leading the offense, Indianapolis has been extremely inconsistent this season leading many to believe head coach Chuck Pagano will be fired after the season with the team missing the postseason.
The Panthers will be playing on their home field chalk full of confidence in Week 8. Carolina covering the -7 point spread is the safe bet here with the Panthers likely cruising to a seventh straight win.
