Cautious Eagles may sit Carson Wentz through entire preseason
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media was on air Sunday and said he wouldn’t be surprised if Wentz doesn’t play in any of the team’s four exhibition contests.
From Inside Training Camp: The #Eagles have liked what they’ve seen from Carson Wentz during his rehab — on the field and behind closed doors. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t play in a preseason game. pic.twitter.com/oNNa4Csr2H

Wentz has continued to recover from the ACL and LCL tears that ended his 2017 season prematurely, suffering no setbacks. He has looked extremely good moving around and throwing the ball.
That said, as Rapoport noted, as had head coach Doug Pederson recently, the big thing right now is to ensure that Wentz is the team’s quarterback the next decade-plus, rather than Week 1 of this coming season.
With that in mind, Eagles fans and fantasy football owners should brace themselves for Nick Foles to open the season as the starter.
