Cavaliers @ Bobcats
The Charlotte Bobcats are trying to sink their claws into a their second post-season run in the franchise’s 10-year history. The last time they went to the playoffs was in the 2009-10 season. The road to making another playoff run is steep, however.
They are currently the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. They are only one game ahead of the Atlanta Hawks. They are three games behind the No. 6 seeded Washington Wizards and have the Detroit Pistons and their opponents tonight the Cleveland Cavilers hot on their trail to steal the seed away.
The Bobcats have won four games over five days out of the All-Star break. Their schedule was working against them however, as they ran into San Antonio, Oklahoma City, Miami and Indiana on the road. They lost the first three of those games. They did manage to upset the Pacers, 109-87, in what is undoubtedly their most impressive win of the season.
The Bobcats have enjoyed playing at home recently. They have won five consecutive games when in Charlotte.
Charlotte has Cleveland’s number. They have beaten them two times this season by a six-point margin.
The Cavs currently sit in 10th place in the conference. They are 3.5 games behind the Atlanta Hawks. Cleveland is beginning a rough stretch of game of their own where they will face off against eight teams in playoff positions. Charlotte is the second team in that stretch.
Cleveland lost to San Antonio in the first game against playoff contenders, 122-101. They did lead in the first quarter though by ten points before falling behind.
The Bobcats are the –4.5 point favorites to win this game over at Bovada.  The game starts at 7:05 p.m. ET and you can watch it on NBA LP.
