CBS plans to stream all their NFL games this season

More and more Americans opt not to overpay for cable and dish services. As a result, streaming services are becoming a favored method of consuming television products. On that note, CBS announced Monday that it has extended its streaming agreement with the NFL. It runs through the 2022 season and all its NFL games will be available to stream on mobile devices. It is the first time ever that NFL games will be available for consumption in this way.

Here’s a direct quote from the company’s press release Monday:

The entire 2018 NFL ON CBS schedule, highlighted by Super Bowl LIII, will be streamed live on all CBS All Access platforms, including on mobile phones and tablets via the CBS App for iOS, Android and Windows 10, online at CBS.com, and on connected devices including Roku Players, Apple TV, Chromecast, Android TV, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Fire TV, Samsung Smart TVs and Amazon Channels. Subscribers will receive the NFL ON games that are broadcast in their local market.

This is big news for those sports lovers who are on the go, and of course for those of us who have cut the cord.

It’s also important to remember this news later this year when, inevitably, NFL ratings continue to slide a bit as they have in recent years–along with everything else on television.
