Celtics Expect Star PG Isaiah Thomas To Play Game 2 Vs. Bulls

The Boston Celtics are the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference and may be the biggest threat to the defending NBA champions. Unfortunately, Boston dropped their first game against the Chicago Bulls while at home in Boston with a grieving Isaiah Thomas trying to battle through the loss of his younger sister.

With Thomas still grieving following sister’s death before Game 1, there have been doubts about whether the Celtics star would be ready to play Game 2. Although Thomas has been severely impacted by the death in the family, he’ll remain with the team and is expected to play on Tuesday night, according to ESPN’s Chris Forsberg:

Isaiah Thomas remained with the Boston Celtics on Monday, and coach Brad Stevens said he expects that the All-Star guard will play Tuesday in Game 2 against the Chicago Bulls before traveling to be with his family after the death of his sister.

Despite Thomas going through the grieving process during Game 1, the All-Star point guard finished with 33 points in the loss to the Bulls. Boston fell short in their Game 1 showdown and will attempt to bounce back on Tuesday night on their home floor before heading to the United Center for Game 3 and 4.

According to Sportsbook.ag, the Celtics are favored to even the series at one game apiece with a -7 point spread.

Game 3 of the playoff series between the Celtics and Bulls will take place on Friday night in Chicago. Game 4 will be played on Sunday afternoon with the Bulls potentially in a series-clinching situation if Boston can’t get back on track in the next two games.
