Cleveland Cavaliers To Face Chicago Bulls In Season Opener At United Center
The full 2015-16 NBA season was officially released on Wednesday with plenty of intriguing matchups from start to finish. The first day of the upcoming season in the NBA will take place on Oct. 27 with six teams set to battle it out on the hardwood.
Two games will start at exactly the same time (8 p.m. EST) to open the season. One will showcase the Detroit Pistons going up against the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena in Georgia. An unorthodox matchup for the first day of the season, but only one of three games that will be played on Oct. 27.
The other, and arguably the marquee matchup to get the NBA season underway, will take place at the United Center in the Windy City. LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers will go on the road to face off against Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls.
LeBron will attempt to shake off his fourth NBA Finals series lost by getting his 13th season started with a bang against the rival Bulls. As for Chicago, Rose and company will be starting a new era under head coach Fred Hoiberg and the recently re-signed Jimmy Butler.
Following the showdown between the Bulls and Cavs, the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors will play host to Anthony Davis’ New Orleans Pelicans at 7:30 p.m. PST. Davis emerged as a legitimate superstar last season in New Orleans leading his team into the playoffs and will look to continue to improve while helping the franchise take the next step as a force to be reckoned with in the highly competitive Western Conference.
Reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry will begin the Warriors’ title defense while receiving their championship rings in front of what will almost certainly be a very loud and excited crowd of a fans at Oracle Arena in Oakland.
