Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard dealing with foot injury
The Los Angeles Clippers have hit their stride this season as they make a case to be a legitimate title contender in the stacked Western Conference once again.
However, the team has been no stranger to injuries like many other teams around the NBA. This time around, superstar forward Kawhi Leonard is dealing with a foot issue that will keep him out of commission for at least a week before he is reevaluated, according to the Clippers via Pro Basketball Talk.

Kawhi Leonard, out tonight versus Portland, has been managing right foot soreness and will be reevaluated next week.
At this point in the 2020-21 NBA season, every team with a shot at winning it all just wants to be fully healthy for when the playoffs start next month. Leonard has dealt with several health issues since joining the Clippers, with the team being extremely cautious with the current face of the franchise.

The Clippers are currently third in the Western Conference behind the conference-leading Utah Jazz and upstart Phoenix Suns. Los Angeles is a game and a half back of Chris Paul’s Suns squad and could challenge them for that spot, but with this latest news, the team might be content with the third or fourth spot in the West heading into next month’s playoffs.
The primary goal for Kawhi and company is to be healthy, and they should be able to accomplish that feat without taking any unnecessary risks in the coming weeks.
