Clippers Set To Take On Rockets
The Los Angeles Clippers are a team to be feared in the NBA. They have been effective on the offensive side of the ball when it matters the most, the fourth quarter which has allowed them to win two in a row.
Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have built a strategy around taking the lead early and relying on defense to maintain the lead in the fourth quarter. They are the best team in the NBA at fourth-quarter defense.
To further contrast these teams, the Clippers are 8-1 when scoring at least 100 points, while Houston is 11-2 when holding opponents below 100 points.
Something will have to give when these two teams collide tonight at 8 p.m. ET on NBA TV.
Strangely, the Rockets having home-court advantage may be working against them. The Clippers are 5-2 on the road in their last seven and average 107.7 points a game and shot nearly 50 percent when on the road, which is why the Clippers are the 3-point favorites in this game.
The Rockets are 12-3 straight up and they dominated the Sacramento Kings earlier this week. Houston has recovered nicely since being upset by the Lakers on Nov. 19, winning three in a row.
The total is set at 199 points. The over is 4-1 in the Clippers last five games.
