Colts coach Frank Reich ‘hopeful’ Andrew Luck will be ‘throwing’ when OTAs begin

The Indianapolis Colts are starting next season with the team parting ways with head coach Chuck Pagano to pave the way for their new leader on the sidelines, Frank Reich.

With Reich now officially the team’s new coach, the attention turns to the health of superstar quarterback Andrew Luck. The Stanford product didn’t play a single game during the 2017 NFL season and his return to the field still remains uncertain after all the changes in Indianapolis. Reich recently talked about his quarterback and when he expects Luck to start throwing again, via ESPN’s Mike Wells.

Super Bowl

If Luck can start the 2018 campaign healthy and motivated, the Colts have something to build on in the Reich era of Indianapolis football. The team still has to put the right pieces around their superstar quarterback, but they have a chance to create something special with a clean slate.

With Reich in place and Luck potentially nearing his return to the field, the Colts have seen their odds to win a Super Bowl next season greatly increase. Indianapolis has gone from the bottom of the barrel in the AFC to a middle-of-the-pack squad in the NFL with a potentially bright future ahead.

Along with Luck’s recovery, the supporting cast in Indianapolis remains a question mark. The Colts brass has some work to do if they truly expect to return to form as a perennial playoff team in the AFC. It may take some time, but there’s no doubt the team is back on the right track.
