Colts May Still Be Without QB Andrew Luck Against Patriots In Week 6

The Indianapolis Colts have been without star quarterback Andrew Luck for the last two games with the face of the franchise dealing with a shoulder injury. Although Luck is as tough as they come at the quarterback position in the NFL, the former number one overall pick has found it difficult to get back on the field for Indianapolis.

After making strides in practice this week, head coach Chuck Pagano remains optimistic that his Pro Bowl quarterback will be under center on Sunday against the New England Patriots, via Jeff Darlington of NFL Network.

The Colts are currently 3-2 on the season and a perfect 2-0 with Luck stuck on the sidelines with the shoulder injury. Veteran backup Matt Hasselbeck has been filling the void with Luck unable to play and doing a decent job in the process. Unfortunately for Indianapolis, Hasselbeck will face an incredibly tough challenge this weekend with the New England Patriots coming to town for an AFC Championship Game rematch.

As of right now, with Luck’s playing status still up in the air for Week 6, the Patriots are heavily favored to come out on top at Lucas Oil Stadium. New England is sporting a -9.5 point spread, via Sportsbook.ag.

The outcome of this game between the Colts and Patriots hinges on Luck’s presence under center. If Luck does play, the spread will almost certainly change, but that’s not to say the Patriots won’t still get the win. New England is arguably the best team in the league right now with the team being an offensive juggernaut once again and will likely beat the Colts while covering the spread on Sunday.
