Cowboys Host Giants in NFL Sunday Night Opener

NFL Sunday Night Football will kick off with a big NFC East rivalry, when the New York Giants visit the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The NFL will wrap up its first Sunday of the 2015 regular season with the always exciting Giants vs. Cowboys matchup.

Dallas opened as 5-point chalk, but is currently 6.5-point chalk on most sportsbook. On the moneyline, Dallas is -270 while New York is +230.

New York is 2-4 against the number in its past 6 games versus Dallas and 0-4 SU over the past 4 head to head with the Cowboys.

New York last season was 6-10 SU and 7-9 ATS, while Dallas won the NFC East and was 13-5 SU and 11-7 ATS.

Dallas covered five of its final six games during the 2014 season and won five of them straight up.

The point total has cashed on the OVER in the past 5 straight and in 10 of the past 12 games between the Giants and Cowboys.

Jon Beason should play at linebacker for New York after seeing limited practice this preseason. Victor Cruz is unlikely to play after missing out this week. However, the biggest loss for New York is not having Jason Pierre-Paul their talented defensive end who lost a finger in a fireworks accident and will not play.

Tony Romo, the Dallas starting quarterback, has a sore back but will play. Dez Bryant, his favorite target, has a slight hamstring injury but will be on the field at 100%.

The Giants hope that Eli Manning will get the needed protection this season to hit his targets down field. However, at his running attack could be suspect with Rashad Jennings and Shane Vereen leading the group of rushers.

Odell Beckham Jr. the talented wide receiver will be Manning’s top target in Week 1 as Cruz will miss out.

Pierre-Paul’s absence in this game has moved the spread up at least a half point. Without their top defensive end and Cruz at wide out, the Giants will be shorthanded on both sides of the ball.

Dallas has one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. They will give Romo plenty of protection in the pocket. However, the Cowboys no longer have DeMarco Murray running the ball and a group of running backs will try to make up for the 449 touches he had last season.

The point total is 51 points and should easily cash on the OVER.

Prediction: Dallas SU and ATS with the points cashing OVER.
