Dak Prescott reportedly rejects Cowboys contract offer
The Dallas Cowboys made a contract offer to quarterback Dak Prescott and, in return, his representatives sent the team back a counteroffer.
Prescott spoke briefly on the situation, per Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. He said “I can’t really say (how close we are). It’s one from each side.â€

This is going to be an interesting situation to watch unfold.
Signing Prescott to the kind of contract top quarterbacks are getting these days is a risky proposition for the Cowboys. Dallas’ offense has been run-first since he became the starter and he has yet to prove he’s the type of quarterback who can carry an offense.
Stephen Jones said recently that the team was hoping Prescott would be amenable to a team-friendly deal, hinting the two sides were far apart.
Based on the way the quarterback’s representatives responded to the offer, it sounds like that isn’t in the cards.
