It has been a rough year for the Dallas Cowboys with seemingly nothing going right for America’s Team. The Cowboys headed into the 2015 NFL season with Super Bowl aspirations with arguably one of the best offenses in the league ready to make the next step.

Unfortunately, injuries have taken a major toll on this team with arguably the team’s two best players, quarterback Tony Romo and wide receiver Dez Bryant, forced to watch from the sidelines. Romo may still be a few weeks away from getting back on the field while healing from a broken collarbone, Bryant appears to be nearing a return to the gridiron.

Although some were optimistic Bryant might be able to return for the Week 7 showdown with the division rival New York Giants, it appears the All-Pro wideout will have to sit out at least another week, according to Kevin Patra of NFL.com.

It’s officially official: Dez Bryant is out for the Dallas Cowboys’ matchup with the New York Giants.

The receiver was downgraded from doubtful to out on Saturday.

Dallas is currently hoping to stay afloat in the race for the NFC East division title with the Giants and Philadelphia Eagles being the biggest threats within the division with both teams sitting at 3-3. A win over the Giants in Week 7 would be a huge step forward for the Cowboys as they get one step closer to getting Romo and Bryant back on the field for the second half of the season.

The Giants are favored to come out on top in this divisional matchup on Sunday with -3.5 point spread, via Sportsbook.ag. New York will be hosting Dallas in Week 7 at MetLife Stadium, but the Cowboys may be able to get the best of their rivals in this crucial game with divisional implications.
