Danny Green Says 2019 Was Best Title “For Sure”
Toronto Raptors guard Danny Green has said that winning the 2019 NBA Title is better than winning it in 2014.
Danny Green won the NBA Championship with the San Antonio Spurs in 2014. When asked which win he enjoyed more, he replied “2019, for sureâ€.
There are a number of parallels between Green’s two NBA title wins. Firstly, Danny Green has beat the reigning champions in both of his NBA Finals. He took down the Golden State Warriors with the Toronto Raptors recently. In 2014, his Spurs side took down the Miami Heat.
As well as that, his former San Antonio teammate Kawhi Leonard won the NBA Finals MVP in both years.

Winning the championship with the Raptors will be all the more satisfying for Green. It’s Toronto’s maiden NBA Title. In 2014, it was the Spurs’ fifth title in 16 years.
The win sparked ecstatic celebrations in the city of Toronto, and Canada in general. The victory parade in Toronto was attended by at least 2 million people.
Green and the Raptors also had to work hard for their title, compared to the 2014 Spurs. Toronto needed six or seven games to win the final three rounds of the playoffs.
The 2014 Spurs had a six game set against the Thunder, but their postseason record that year was 12 – 4.

Green once held the record for the most three pointers in the NBA Finals, with 27. He has quite the finals pedigree, having represented the Cleveland Cavaliers, Spurs and Raptors. He has never played for a team who missed the playoffs or won fewer than 47 games.
His good friend Kawhi Leonard will join him in free agency this offseason. It’s unclear where each will end up, but Green said it would be ‘great’ to play with Leonard again.
