Derrick Rose Is Back and the Bulls Could Not Be Happier

The Chicago Bulls are currently leading the Milwaukee Bucks 3-0 in their best of seven Eastern Conference series after defeating the Bucks on Thursday 113-106.

Derrick Rose was instrumental in the win scoring 34 points, while playing 48 minutes of the double overtime victory. After watching that performance, it is safe to say that Rose is finally back, and everyone who loves the sport of basketball and the NBA are happy he has returned.

Thanks to Rose’s resurgence, Chicago can close out Milwaukee on Saturday with a win and could then get as much as one week of rest prior to a likely meeting with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round.

The real test of Rose being back will come when the Bulls play the Cavaliers. Through three games in the postseason, however it is looking promising for both the Bulls and Rose.

Rose after the game Thursday night spoke easier about what he did wrong that how well he played.

For example, Chicago was trailing by a point with only 4.9 seconds to go in regulation when Rose was fouled on a layup attempt. Rose could only talk about how he missed one of the free throws to send the game to overtime. He told reporters that now he will have to go back and practice more on his free throws. That was the only one he missed on the night, by the way.

Rose also criticized himself for allowing Khris Middleton to hit two three-point shots because he said he knew what play the Bucks were running but did not act in time. He said the Middleton baskets helped the Bucks come back and force overtime and that was his fault.

Rose was scoreless in the first overtime, but scored six in the second. For the full game, Rose made 12 of his 23 shots from the floor, including 5 of his 9 take from 3-point territory. He had 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals in the 48 minutes. While Ross was on the floor, the Bulls were plus-15.

After having an up and down season due to injuries and his surgery, it seems that Rose has found the rhythm that had escaped him most of the season. In the series, Rose is averaging 24 points per game with 8 assists.

With double teams and spacing limiting Pau Gasol, Rose and backcourt mate Jimmy Butler, who scored 24 points, are scoring 49.5% of the points for Chicago in the series.

Joakim Noah noted that Rose and Butler were leading the team.

Jason Kidd the head coach for Milwaukee said Rose was playing at a high level like an MVP.

Let’s hope he continues at this level or higher as Rose is good for the game and it will make for a great series versus Cleveland.
