Dez Bryant Undergoes Surgery On Foot, Could Miss Eight Weeks

Bad news got worse for the Dallas Cowboys on Monday.

Injured in the season opener against the New York Giants, wide receiver Dez Bryant, who received a $70 million extension in July, was initially expected to miss 4-6 weeks a broken foot. A revised recovery timeline now puts him out as long as eight weeks.

Bryant has already undergone surgery to repair a metatarsal fracture in his right foot, contrary to a report by ESPN’s Chris Mortensen that it was scheduled for Tuesday. He suffered the injury less than a minute into the fourth quarter on a crossing route.

The Cowboys are expected to provide an update on Bryant’s condition within the day.
