Former Raven Matt Elam arrested for theft, battery
Matt Elam is currently an NFL free agent safety, and based on his recent arrest record he’s likely to stay that way.
After being arrested on drug charges earlier this year, Elam has reportedly been arrested again. This time, he was busted for grand theft and battery in Delray Beach, Fla., according to TMZ Sports, which acquired jail records.
“Elam — who was arrested on drug charges earlier this year — was booked at 8:48am. He’s currently being held on $4,500 bond.â€
Elam played for the Baltimore Ravens last year, appearing in nine games. He was selected by Baltimore in Round 1 of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Florida. He has appeared in 41 games total in his career to this point, starting 26 from 2013-14.
The NFL has yet to rule on any disciplinary action surrounding Elam’s first arrest. At this point, a suspension seems highly probable under the league’s personal conduct policy.
