Game 4: Clipper Favorites Against Rockets
The Los Angeles Clippers hit a big of a bump in the road when they let the Houston Rockets grab Game 3 from them. However, they have a chance to make this a one-game series tonight.
The Clippers are -7-point favorites against the Rockets over at Bovada. Most sportsbooks have them set at around this spot.
One of the big complaints about the Rockets, dating back to last season, is they are inconsistent. Adding a Dwight Howard to help back up James Harden has not remedy that situation. They still go back and forth from looking like a team that are the Championship favorites to out of their league.
The Rockets believe they have the Blake Griffin puzzle figured out. They are putting pressure on him and forcing turnovers. Griffin committed 15 turnover in the Rockets Game 2 win.
The Rockets also got great production from their bench in Game 2. J.J. Redick shot 11 of 14 and Austin Rivers hit 10 of his 13 shots. However, like the Rockets team as a whole, those are not something that those guy can consistently come off the bench and do as show in Game 3.
Meanwhile, the Clippers have looked like the better team in this series and, as they are returning home, the sports books are reflecting that. The Clippers did not even need Chris Paul to beat Houston on Friday, who was out with an injury but says he will be on the court today.
The Clippers won by 25 points on Friday. With Griffin looking to protect the ball better and Paul scheduled to play more minutes, the Rockets may be in for a long night.
The total for this game is set at 217 points. The total has gone over in five of Houston’s last six games. The total has gone over in six of the Clippers last seven games.
The game starts at 8:30 p.m. ET on TNT.
