Giants new GM reportedly interested in Bill O’Brien

According to some NFL circles, the New York Giants will be watching the Houston Texans closely following Week 17. Because if Houston fires coach Bill O’Brien, New York could emerge as an interested suitor.

O’Brien has led the Texans to two AFC South titles in his four seasons manning the Houston sidelines. The 2017 season has been a disaster. But given the number of injuries the Texans have had to deal with, it’s hard to pin that solely on the coach.

O’Brien’s teams have generally found ways to be at least competent offensively. This is despite having questionable talent, namely at the quarterback position. O’Brien has won AFC South titles with Brian Hoyer and Brock Osweiler under center.

The Giants are in need of an offensive upgrade. With that in mind, it only makes sense that O’Brien would be a prime candidate. We should also expect that multiple teams will be interested.
