Hawks Are Big Favorites Against Wizards

The Atlanta Hawks will be looking to take the lead in Game 5 of their series against the Washington Wizards tonight.

The Hawks turned it up on Monday to defeat the Wizards, 106-101 and to cover a -4.5 point spread as favorites. Tonight they are -8-point favorites or more at the sportsbooks we checked out. Atlanta being big favorites has a lot to do with them returning home and their efforts in Game 4.

The Hawks, often criticized for not having a “star player,” had Jeff Teague hit just under 50 percent from behind the arc. Overall the Hawks had 30 assists on 41 baskets. It was another all-around effort, as this team continues its mission to show that with a solid team effort a “superstar” is not needed.

Atlanta is 4-2 against the spread over its last six games. Though if you got back they have only covered four times over their last 13 games.

The Wizards are looking to regain control of the series after Atlanta tied it up. The Wizards are 8-2 against the spread over their last ten games.

The total is set at 200 points. The series is 3-1 on the OVER. However, the highest total of the series has been 199 points in Game 2. In that game the UNDER bettors went to the payout window. Game 4 saw both teams in rare form behind the arc, so despite it hitting the OVER with a total of 207 points, it is unlikely that the three-point shooting will be as hot in this game.
