Houston Texans to Feature on ‘Hard Knocks’
The Houston Texans have officially been named as the featured team for the tenth season of HBO’s acclaimed Hard Knocks. Part reality series, part documentary, the program follows the lives of players and coaches for four weeks of training camp and preseason games in the lead up to the new NFL season.
Hard Knocks has earnt respect from fans and critics alike for its unfiltered, unscripted and uncompromising insight into the men that make the game, both on and off the field.
This year’s Texans look set to be one of the most fascinating subjects yet, with complex storylines, larger-than-life personalities and training camp clashes oozing all across the board.
The intimidating and intense J.J. Watt should feature prominently, following a well-received cameo appearance last season during a joint practice session with 2014 stars, the Atlanta Falcons.
Watt’s rapport with a defensive cohort that includes the brash, unpredictable Brian Cushing and former first overall pick Jadeveon Clowney, should make for must-see TV on its own, but the series will also showcase Arian Foster, the artistic, introspective running back who refuses to buy in to the pitfalls of success, a rising star at wide receiver in DeAndre Hopkins, a smart, strategic head coach in Bill O’Brien, a three-way quarterback competition between Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallett and Tom Savage, and a fan favourite across the league in former Patriot Vince Wilfork.
The five-episode series kicks off Tuesday, August 11 at 10pm on HBO, and will run every week until the season finale on September 8.
