Indiana Pacers Forward Jordan Hill Arrested For Reckless Driving In Altanta
With the Los Angeles Lakers moving on with Roy Hibbert, free agent forward/center Jordan Hill chose to replace the man that replaced him by signing a one-year deal with the Indiana Pacers. Although still considered a solid option at the forward or center position, Hill hasn’t gotten off to a good start with the Pacers only a few weeks after signing a deal with the team.
According to ESPN, Hill was arrested in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia on Friday:
Indiana Pacers newcomer Jordan Hill was arrested near Atlanta on charges of reckless driving and speeding after police clocked his car going 107 mph in a 65 mph zone.
Along with getting into trouble only a few weeks after signing with a new team, Hill’s traffic violation and arrest was caught on camera, via Mike Petchenik of WSB-TV:

Following Hill’s arrest, Pacers president Larry Bird released the following statement about the team’s recent signee:

The addition of Hill was one of a few solid moves for the Pacers this summer. Indiana will have star small forward Paul George back healthy while playing alongside Monta Ellis and Chase Budinger. The Pacers may have lost David West in free agency and Hibbert in a trade with the Lakers, but Indiana fly under the radar and surprise some people with a solid showing in the Eastern Conference next season.
The fate of Hill remains uncertain with the team and the league bound to enforce some form of discipline. Bird and company voiding his contract isn’t beyond the realm of possibility if the team simply doesn’t want to deal with a player that could prove to be a problem off the court.
