Jags RB Leonard Fournette to miss game Thursday
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette won’t play Thursday night when his team plays against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Dealing with a foot injury that the Jags are being extremely cautious with, Fournette is being held out, along with receiver Marqise Lee, who dodged a bullet after being carted off the field at practice Sunday.

Fournette looked the part of the bruising, power back the Jags thought they had when they selected him No. 4 overall this spring. Going for 31 yards on nine carries, the former LSU star punched in a touchdown at the goal line with ease.
During his collegiate career, Fournette did struggle to stay healthy at times. He dealt with an ankle injury last season that cost him half the season. One report indicates the ankle was a chronic problem that could at some point require surgery.
With all that said, it’s not surprising that the Jaguars are not taking any risks with the young man’s health. If they’re going to finally break out of the AFC South basement, then he’ll need to be a big part of the solution.
